Virtually There

Virtual meetings done well and with intention mean that you can be Virtually There!

Virtually There: Dos and Don’ts for Planning, Chairing and Holding Virtual Board and Annual General Meetings is based on a series of online learning events developed and delivered in the spring of 2020, during the immediate throes of the COVID-19 pandemic.

For many boards, virtual meetings will continue to be the norm for some time to come, and in fact, some may never meet in person again.

Virtually There covers all aspects and best practices for virtual meetings, from communication beforehand to the security levels necessary and how to manage them. The book includes a sample Virtual and Electronic Meeting Policy that can be tailored to any organization.

Virtual AGMs have in many cases been highly successful and have garnered the interest of shareholders and members in a new way. The ability to meet virtually has allowed more people to attend AGMs and take part in this important annual reflection on the life of the organization.

The good news is that we have all learned some things through these scary times. We have learned how to meet success in a virtual way. Technology has improved, and people have learned how to use it efficiently. And we may find that the way of the future is to hold AGMs virtually as a matter of preference.
